President Anote Tong of Kiribati, a South Pacific island nation and Dr. Modadugu. V. Gupta of India have been selected as dual laureates for the First Sunhak Peace Prize.

President Tong was recongnized for his work of raising awareness throughout the global community about the seriousness of climate change, and Dr. Gupta was recongnized for his contribution in strengthening self-reliance skills of the poor by spreading innovative aqua farming technology.
